8 Hour Recertification Course
Hours: 8 AM-5 PM
Your $325.00 registration fee covers all training materials with the
exception of the CAOHC “Hearing Conservation Manual”. This manual was provided
at your original certification. Should you need a new manual, they are
available for $50.00. CAOHC recertification fee is included in the course
fee. You may bring your own audiometer if you wish. Lunch is at your own
expense.

After successfully completing this 8 hour recertification course, you
will receive a certificate of course completion. The course instructor
will forward your application and the $50.00 recertification fee to CAOHC.
Occupational Hearing Conservationist must be recertified every five
years.
40 Hour (2 1/2 Day) Certification
Course

Your $595.00 registration fee covers all training materials, including
the 255 page Third Edition of CAOHC’s “Hearing Conservation Manual” written
by Alice Suter, Ph.D. CAOHC certification fee is included in the course
fee.You may bring your own audiometer if you wish. Lunch is at your own
expense.
Course Topics Include:
• Noise as a problem in the workplace
• Anatomy and physiology of the ear
• Principles of noise analysis and noise control
• Hearing and the physics of sound
• Federal and state regulations
• The audiometer and test environment
• Audiometer techniques
• Proper instrument calibration techniques
• Supervised audiometric evaluations and reviews
• Audiogram review, referral and employee follow-up
• Recordkeeping
• When to make a medical referral
• Workers’ compensation guidelines
• Following OSHA guidelines
• How to effectively monitor sound in the workplace
• Helpful tips
This two-and-a-half day course will provide a clear
understanding of how to design and implement a hearing
conservation program and perform audiometric testing.
After successfully completing this course, you will receive a
certificate of course completion. The course instructor will
forward your application and the $60 certification fee to CAOHC.
Course Instructor:
Linda Ratliff-Hober:
Ms. Ratliff-Hober is an American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA)
certified and state-licensed audiologist. She has a wide variety of
experience and brings a practical approach to occupational hearing conservation.
She completed her undergraduate work at the University of Kansas
and her graduate work at Central Missouri State University. A well-respected
professional in hearing conservation, she has performed field work for
a number of years, handling testing for various companies and has trained
hundreds of Occupational Hearing Conservationists.
Location:
Both courses will be held at Day Star Corporation, 203 E. 14th
Avenue, in North Kansas City, Mo.-just minutes from downtown Kansas
City off Interstate 35 and Armour Road. There are a number of good places
to eat within walking distance of the course site. Hotel rooms are just
a short drive away. Your confirmation material will include directions
to the training site and hotel information.
Cancellations:
Should you cancel your reservation at least two weeks prior to the course,
we’ll refund your tuition less 20%.
(Day Star Corporation reserves the right to cancel courses due to low
attendance or factors beyond our control. In such instances, your money
will be refunded in full. Prices are subject to change.)
